Born in Germany, Gürcan Özköklü is bilingual in German and Turkish and has over 30 years of experience teaching German. He graduated from Hacettepe University with a degree in German Language Teaching and completed his master’s degree in DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache).

He worked as a full-time lecturer at Bilkent University for many years; he also worked as an instructor and certified exam evaluator at the Goethe-Institut Ankara.
